Prefers full sun; I have mine in a south facing window. It can be grown outdoors. The Black Gem is like a regular succulent and likes to dry out completely before waterings. This succulent type is a rare one that blooms in the spring. When it blooms, expect a beautiful flower. It is a nice addition to your collection of plants, especially if you have it displayed in a beautiful pot. The BG does not handle cold weather well. Prefers a warm climate.
